Going offline after idle
Reduce Deep Sleep in the network or sleep menus if office PCs lose the device mid-morning. Prefer adding the printer by IP using Brother’s Full Driver & Software Package from support.brother.com.
Toner vs drum
The panel distinguishes toner and drum. Replace only what it asks for. After installing a new drum, follow Brother’s reset steps for the L2710 series so the counter clears.
ADF and flatbed scanning
Install the full software set for scan-to-PC and OCR features. If Scan to Network fails, fall back to USB or the Brother iPrint&Scan app on the same Wi‑Fi.
Paper feed
Don’t overfill the cassette. For envelopes, use the manual feed guidelines in the Brother manual to avoid skew jams in the fuser area.
